Interesting things in RIFT

Every game should have its own twist. AND Rift – no exception. As in other projects, Rift hides many secrets and interesting facts. I will tell you about them in this article.

It’s worth starting with the developers. It’s no secret that veterans of their craft were involved in the creation of the game – starting from the producer of almost the entire line EverQuest And EverQuest 2 and ending with art director Dungeon Keeper 2. Other developers of online games also mingled there, whose assets included the same EQ/EQ2, Star Wars Galaxies, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, Tabula Rasa, City of Heroes And Aion. Taking the best that the genre has, the developers have created a really good MMORPG, for which we thank them.

The game has one useful feature – this integration with social networks, have become very popular recently. Players have the ability to tweet and Facebook directly from the game.* But the most important thing is that you can shoot a video and immediately publish it on your page. Music is added automatically. Convenient, isn’t it??

Don’t forget about world record for the most weddings in an MMO. In 24 hours (from 9:00 on February 14 to 9:00 on February 15), 21,879 weddings were registered in the game. This record was officially confirmed and included in the gaming edition of the Guinness Book of Records, and all players who got married during that period received a unique in-game title.

The most important uniqueness Rift consists, perhaps, in dynamic events – faults, after which the game is named. Players and others liked this system so much that they subsequently began to introduce it into new expected games, for example, Tera And Arche Age. Unfortunately, in a greatly reduced version. But nevertheless, a developed system of dynamic events in Rift marked the beginning of a new positive desire of the developers to make the game a little more lively, which cannot but rejoice.

IN Rift‘e have universal character class — cleric. As you know, thanks to the soul system, you can use various combinations of skills and combine several roles at the same time. However, it is the cleric who can combine all roles at once – he is a tank, a healer, a support, and melee damage dealer, and range damage dealer.

Once a character reaches level 50, the game really just begins. No, there is no level 100 in the game, but… It’s all about planar fusion system, which allows the character to acquire additional bonuses. Each conditional “level” gained after the 50th is converted into special points, which are spent on purchasing special skills and bonuses to characteristics. To level up the entire planar fusion, players will have to level up over a thousand levels. Impressive, isn’t it??

IN Rift There is "Korovans». https://luckymeslots-casino.co.uk/bonus/ Yes, the real ones, with drivers, poor overloaded animals, slowly trudged through the desert. They can be met in one of the special zone events: your task will be to escort them safely to the city. It is noteworthy that at the moment this event has the reputation of being the most boring and longest in the entire game. Perhaps the only thing missing is the “rob” function.

There is a a huge number of hiding places and puzzles. They are found in almost all locations and become a pleasant surprise. This means that in the game you can not only “kill and collect”, but also strain your brains and get some good reward for it. For solving each puzzle, the character receives an achievement. More information about hiding places and puzzles can be found here: www.rift-wiki.ru/content/pazzly-i-tainiki

Now I’ll tell you about some Easter eggs.
1. fight club
In the Rift you can find a kind of “Fight Club”, where you can fight Popeye and get for him… that’s right, spinach.

2. Stone TV
In one of the settlements you can find a TV made of stone. Technomagic, such technomagic. I wonder what they can even show on it?

3. Captain Ron
In the Shimmersand location there is a mob named "Captain Ron". This is a reference to the film "Captain Ron" and its main character.

4. Nessie
In the waters of the Gloamwood location you can stumble upon the Loch Ness Monster. If you’re lucky, of course. Or no luck.

5. M&M’s in Rift
In the starting location of the Renegade faction, you can see a woman who sometimes, when you run past her, says the phrase “They are real!" and faints. This is a reference to the famous New Year’s commercial for M&M’s jelly beans, where Santa Claus, upon seeing the candies, says: "They’re real."!" and falls to the floor.

6. Eye of Sauron
In the vastness of Telara you can find a torch very similar to the Eye of Sauron: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gt2YpuCRzk

7. Great squirrels
In one of the locations you can find unusual squirrels – in appearance they resemble planar bosses in some ways, and even more so – they are named after them: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjMqEEp-ego

8. Invite a friend!
The European video “Ascend a friend” is made in the style of the famous Old Spice advertisement. *Rift on horseback, oh yes, on horseback!*

9. Dance of the people
Funny dance moves of a race of people taken from Carlton Dance’s video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS1cLOIxsQ8

10. Tasha Gray
In the Circle of the Chosen is a healer named Tasha Gray, who has a very distinctive form. This reminds me of someone, but I just can’t remember who…;)

And in the vastness of Telara you can find a huge number of books, telling various stories and legends. If you find and read them all, you can learn something new about the history of the game world.

In general, there are many more interesting things scattered around the world of Telara. Maybe you saw something else unusual?

* The activities of the parent organization “Meta” are recognized as extremist and prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation

In Synth We Wave

Hello, dear reader, Zombie is with you, and today we are not talking about games. for the first time in the history of this account. Today we will talk about music.

This blog has been unfairly delayed and delayed for a long time, and the reason is the subject itself. It’s easy to talk about games, because games are something physical. You see actions on the screen, you read or listen to dialogues and notes, you can describe the design of the game, you can talk about how the gameplay or plot twists made you feel.
And music is something that you can do just hear. Music always evokes feelings that are hard to describe in words. You feel music in your heart and love it in your subconscious. It’s often difficult for you to describe why you like this track, but not this one.

But still I want to try. Maybe you’ll pick up something interesting from this blog, who knows?.

Today we are talking about a specific genre of music, the so-called SYNTHWAVE and about its varieties, that is darksynthwave, retrowave, space synthwave and many more waves.

The video version is here somewhere, as always. The video features more visuals for each group. You’ll have to do without this on your blog, otherwise you’ll get tired of scrolling through the pictures.

There are a lot of performers in https://casinojackpotjoy.uk/login/ this genre, so I will only talk about those I personally like them, A I’ll also tell you about YouTube channels, where you can discover new and new groups for yourself by listening to selections, new tracks and YouTube radio stations, playing only synthwave.

In order not to engage in a boring list of bands, I will try to tell my personal story of getting to know the synthwave genre. How this genre fell into my hands, or rather into my ears, which bands were the first for me, which ones a little later, which ones I discovered recently.

I will also try to describe not only the sound and to which branch of synth belongs to the group, but I will also describe their associations: what I see and feel when I listen to this or that band.
Perhaps through associations it will be easier for you to understand me, and through associations it will be easier for me to express my emotions towards the group.

My acquaintance with the synthwave genre began. from the cover. The thing is, it’s very easy to buy me for the cover. It catches the eye, attracts attention, subtly creeps into the soul – well, then I’ll open it and see what’s there.

Autumn 2020, I’m sitting in the gym, scrolling through the main page of YouTube, trying to listen to something like this, and then I see this cover.

I probably stare at this undeniably cool cover for half a minute, then see what it is. It seems to be a music album by a certain group called Mega Drive. The finger presses on the album, and after a leisurely minute intro.

Note: in the video version minute excerpts of tracks were inserted as examples. It will be easier to insert the entire track into a blog.

In general, Mega Drive is very easy to describe. This space travel music. Imagine flying a high-tech ship through the emptiness of space. You have an incredibly important task, or maybe not, maybe you’re just suffering from bullshit in space and wasting fuel in vain. Get high and enjoy the gorgeous view from the windows. At the same time, for some reason it’s the 90s, and the film “Total Recall” with Schwartz was recently released. This is it. Many Mega Drive tracks create the feeling of flying through the stars on a large. and maybe not a very large ship.

However, there are exceptions, some Mega Drive tracks – purely cyberpunk and more creating the feeling of a crowded metropolis of the future, power on the streets is confidently held by augmented bandits. And for some reason the action takes place in the 90s again.

Mega Drive is filled with this vibe of those years, when the cyberpunk genre was just blossoming in cinema.

Or, for example, the album Seas of Infinity. The best Mega Drive album is definitely 198XAD, but I love them more for Seas of Infinity. Because it’s deep-sea album. As if you suddenly found yourself not in a spaceship among the stars, but in a submarine at a depth of over 9000 meters.

The group currently has nine albums, and you have already noticed a pattern in the covers. It’s always a skull of varying degrees of creepiness and acidity.

Inside Inside

The first thing that catches your eye is the visual style. Limbo was metaphorical work, implying a lot of plot innuendos to create a field of theories and your own visions of events. Therefore, simple 2D drawing and black and gray colors suited the game perfectly – this solution gives more food for imagination. IN Inside everything is completely different. It’s just as gloomy, but with a large variety of colors, voluminous models and backdrops give sense of the depth of the world. Down-to-earth and realistic models of the environment and people create a more straight story.

Puzzles in Inside focused on the sequence of correct decisions by the player, and not on calculated timing, like most Limbo (although there are some). However, they are not very complicated: many riddles use the same solution. And some even copy themselves (there are so many puzzles with the water level that they begin to become boring).

Pleasantly surprised by unique cases. Let me give you an example. The main character steals a small submarine and stumbles upon a man with long hair who can breathe underwater. This man stops in front of the hero, but if he swims past, he will kill the boy. It took me many attempts to see the connection between the enemy and the spotlight. All the fun of such a riddle in feeling smart, when you go through it yourself, but this only works once.

Nothing has changed gameplay, even management. Run left, right, jump and the “use” button on the ctrl key. It would be nice to introduce some new mechanics, but the developers took a different route. They took one of the least pleasant aspects of Limbo for me – the maggots that manipulated the main character – and improved it. Now the player can take control of other people by reaching the desired device. It’s more pleasant to manage than to be managed, don’t you think??

I’ll note that I liked where the https://casinogriffon.uk/login/ checkpoints are. The game can be loaded from any save point. These points in memorable locations, so that the player will not have problems remembering a specific location. Small thing, but easy to use.

As I said, the story in Inside is straighter than the previous game Playdead. Before I start, I’ll say a little preface. The narrative goes through the environment, through actions in the background, active areas in the foreground. No cut scenes, no words, only hardcore. Therefore, there is no need to talk about exact interpretations.

Surely the boy ran away from upper class people. Lower class caught, zombified and taken to laboratories. The player is shown how, most likely, the people were fooled. Through the helmet of will control, the upper class manipulated the lower. After using the device for a long time, people became "vegetables". The device is no longer needed, so we find such a helmet in an abandoned place.

Further, in laboratories, “higher” and scientists conduct experiments on people. “Inferiors” are used as material for the development of an underwater breathing system. There is one interesting detail – child with long hair, who can breathe underwater. He hunts the main character, confusing him with the "higher ones". But when he realizes that the guy is not one of them, he sticks some kind of wire into him and now the boy does not suffocate in the water.

Last warning: ending spoilers!

Obviously, the experiment did not go very well, because at the end we stumble upon something strange, reminiscent of a human biomass of several people. I think it’s pretty simple. It would be. It’s about hidden mysterious balls in locations.

Finding everything in one playthrough on your own is incredibly difficult. Even if you are as attentive as possible, you will probably miss at least one such place. And this is a great solution. First you watch the ending, which puts a logical end to the story. And then, when you manage to find all the manipulator balls (after all, they also affect consciousness?), see another ending, which puts another point and leaves questions.

If we find the secret underground laboratory (it will open after finding all the secrets), we approach the cord connected to the large manipulation helmet. And when we pull him out, the hero himself falls as if knocked down. Like “inferiors” when you turn off the helmet of manipulation. It turns out that someone controlled the main character? And this someone wanted to disconnect everyone from manipulation through the boy? Or is it a little rebellion against control??

RESULT
Inside is Limbo, only prettier, the puzzles are more interesting and less annoying, with an interesting alternative ending, but a more straightforward plot. I don’t recommend passing by the game, especially since it goes by quickly.

ARMA: Cold War Assault is free on Steam

Obviously. It costs almost nothing, but it will bring you money. Why sell games from the 80s/90s? Because someone will buy it.

It’s just that, as a person who bought a general physical training program, I don’t see the logic in changing the name of the game and throwing the same thing on the market if everyone has already had it for a long time.

Bohemia no longer has the rights to the OFP, although they made the original game. That’s why they renamed it (about two years ago) so that there would be no misunderstandings with the Codemasters

Just why am I sitting and https://hunky-bingo-casino.co.uk/bonus/ downloading it now, if I’ve had a GPU with additions and mods worth one and a half gigabytes on my hard drive for a long time??

And spend 2 weeks on a couple of goodies, like new weapons, equipment, or maps? Or add mod support for example? To really sell the game. I don’t know how much they made from this, but I think if they worked on the game a little, it would really make money.

Hello = D I did a search and didn’t find this topic. I wrote a post in the freebie distribution, but it’s easy to miss there. It’s not even easy – it’s easier than easy. = D

We actually have a lot of game collectors and I think this information is very useful for them = D

That is, they renamed it, republished it, and didn’t add anything, that’s just it? They just brazenly posted a game from 10 years ago, but with a different name?

What’s the impudence?? It seems they had problems with the rights to the name, I can’t say for sure. That’s why they renamed it. What’s strange is that they added their own game to electronic sales? oO

It’s just that, as a person who bought a general physical training program, I don’t see the logic in changing the name of the game and throwing the same thing on the market if everyone has already had it for a long time. Yes, yes, I know that they broke up into two companies, one continued to make canonical arma, and the second made a shitty flashpoint, but why would they dig up the old flashpoint, change the name, and sell?

what’s the problem? This is not some kind of re-release or anything like that. The developers just decided to put their old game back on sale. For people who, for example, do not have old disks, it is quite convenient to buy.
